BAND is our primary communication tool. It’s where you’ll hear about circle meetups, expedition events, and what’s next.

Join both BAND groups
Dads: join Knight Rangers BAND and introduce yourself and your son. We encourage both parents to join Great Coastal BAND for expedition announcements and the calendar.

Come meet the circle
Our relaxed local get-togethers help dads and boys get to know each other before an adventure. Watch Knight Rangers BAND for the next meetup.

Register for an adventure
Once your YMCA DayCareWorks account is ready, use it to register for expedition events. Registration typically opens three weeks before an event; check BAND for the current opening and details.
Some events have capacity limits. Register early for the outings you want to attend.

Make it work for your family.
No expectation to attend everything. Come for one event or as many as you’d like. No camping experience required.

Ask before buying a lot of equipment. Tell the circle what you have and what you may need. We’ll help you figure out what’s necessary; someone may have gear you can borrow.
Use the expedition packing list as a starting point, then confirm the requirements for your outing in BAND.
How do vests and patches work?
We traditionally wear vests and collect patches from our adventures. They become a record of the experiences you and your son share.
Any matching dad-and-son vests are welcome. These army-green options are the two most commonly used in our circle, but they aren’t required:
Choose army green and the appropriate size when ordering. You don’t need everything on day one—ask the circle for help getting set up.
Where do we get shirts, hats, and other gear?
Watch BAND for new Knight Rangers gear and requests for sizes. You can also browse the Knight Rangers swag store. Having the gear shouldn’t stand between you and getting started.
Where can we find upcoming events?
Check BAND for current announcements, registration openings, and circle meetups. The expedition calendar is another place to explore upcoming adventures.
